After a very successful run of "Neverland," Kate is once again teaming up with Olivia Lilley at Prop Thtr to devise a new play. This time, it's Frederick Wedekind's "The Lulu Plays" which will be getting a severe feminist lashing as its devisers churn out a story which examines Lulu outside the male gaze.
When a young immigrant woman finds herself being supported by a wealthy, white divorcee, power dynamics tether one to the other and questions of identity, agency and class loom. Can Lulu discover her identity with the help of her friends before she loses herself completely? Or will they too, try to define her for themselves?
"Diary of an Erotic Life"
Kate and her writing partner, Chris Brickhouse, are pleased to announce their play, "Ghosts of Whitechapel" had a very successful Rhinofest run.
SYNOPSIS: "Ghosts of Whitechapel" is a well-researched but fictionalized account of the five women who have been known in history only as "Jack the Ripper's victims." Mary Ann (Polly) Nichols, Annie Chapman, Catherine Eddowes, Elizabeth Stride and Mary Jane Kelly are ready to speak from beyond the grave and earn respect for the lives they led instead of being known solely for the deaths they suffered.
